Branding

Customize Lumen's bot name, avatar, and remove Lumen branding on paid plans.

Make the chat widget feel like a native part of your store.

Bot name

Set the name that appears in the chat header. This is what customers see as the "sender" of each message.

  1. Go to Apps → Lumen → Settings.
  2. Under Bot Name, enter your preferred name.
  3. Click Save.

Common choices:

  • Your store name (e.g., "Alpine Gear Support")
  • A friendly name (e.g., "Order Assistant")
  • A generic label (e.g., "Support")

Bot avatar

On the Pro+ plan, you can upload a custom avatar image that appears next to Lumen's messages.

  • Recommended size: 64×64 pixels
  • Format: PNG or JPG
  • Shape: The image is displayed as a circle, so use a square image with the content centered

On Free and Pro plans, Lumen uses a default avatar.

Welcome message

Customize the first message customers see when they open the chat:

  1. Go to Apps → Lumen → Settings.
  2. Under Welcome Message, enter your greeting.
  3. Click Save.

Example: "Hi! I can help you track your order. Just tell me your order number or email address."

Remove Lumen branding

On the Free plan, a small "Powered by Lumen" badge appears at the bottom of the chat widget.

On Pro and Pro+ plans, this badge is automatically removed — no action needed. The widget appears as if it's your own custom chat tool.

AI persona (Pro+ only)

On the Pro+ plan, you can customize Lumen's communication style:

  • Tone — Formal, friendly, or casual
  • Store context — Add information about your store policies, shipping times, or FAQs that Lumen can reference in responses

This is configured in Apps → Lumen → Settings → AI Persona.
