Branding
Customize Lumen's bot name, tone, avatar, and branding.
Make the chat widget feel like a native part of your store.
Bot name
Set the name that appears in the chat header. This is what customers see as the "sender" of each message.
- Go to Apps → Lumen → Settings.
- Under Bot Name, enter your preferred name.
- Click Save.
Common choices:
- Your store name (e.g., "Alpine Gear Support")
- A friendly name (e.g., "Order Assistant")
- A generic label (e.g., "Support")
Tone
Choose the tone Lumen should use when replying to customers. The available tone options are designed for support conversations and are available on all plans.
Bot avatar
On the Pro+ plan, you can use a custom bot avatar.
On Free and Pro plans, Lumen uses a default avatar.
Remove Lumen branding
On the Free plan, a small "Powered by Lumen" badge appears at the bottom of the chat widget.
On Pro and Pro+ plans, this badge is automatically removed — no action needed. The widget appears as if it's your own custom chat tool.
AI persona (Pro+ only)
On the Pro+ plan, you can add custom AI persona instructions for your store:
- Preferred wording for your brand.
- Specific support boundaries.
- Short store context that helps Lumen answer in your style.
Keep persona instructions short and operational. Do not add private credentials, internal-only notes, or customer personal data.
